Friends:
My grandfather passed away yesterday. Even after 92 years it is difficult to fathom that the man I grew up knowing as Grandpa “Howdy” is gone. Sadness and emptiness fill a big part of my heart these days–and yet the great hope we hold is that we have not said “Good-bye,” but rather, “See you later.”
I do not intend to make this a depressing post. I intend to use it to inform you that The Brown Coffee Co. will be closed Thursday and Friday, 1-2 April, as I travel with my family to Houston where we will lay Grandpa Howdy to rest alongside his beloved wife of 62 years.
I fully expect we’ll be back open Saturday 3 April at 8a (though I can’t 100% promise it’ll be right at 8a). And of course we’ll have our coffee open house Saturday evening…see post below.
